About the speaker
Karen Ford Cull
Karen Ford Cull is a non-attorney special education advocate and parent leader focused on strengthening inclusive education practices across California. She is the founder of Plan4Inclusion, where she partners with families seeking to increase or maintain meaningful participation in general education for students with cognitive disabilities, Down syndrome, autism, and related conditions. Karen is also the founder of the Facebook community Parents for Inclusive Education California, a growing network of families sharing strategies and resources to expand inclusive opportunities in their districts.
A USC/CHLA LEND Family Support Fellow and COPAA SEAT 2 graduate, Karen combines lived experience as a parent with research-informed advocacy. Her work centers on developing strong vision statements, writing generative IEP goals, maximizing supports, and ensuring access to grade-level curriculum with appropriate accommodations and assistive technology. She believes inclusion begins with language—and succeeds through thoughtful planning and access to resources.
