Summer can be one of the hardest times of year for families of kids with disabilities. School services pause, routines change, and many parents are left wondering: What supports are actually available? If your child is a Regional Center client in California, summer may open the door to services like additional respite hours, social-recreation programs, camps, and individualized supports. And for families in the Self-Determination Program (SDP) or considering it, summer can be a powerful opportunity to design supports that truly fit your child and your family.
Join us for a FREE live conversation and Q&A with Undivided’s Public Benefits Specialist and Self-Determination Program Consultant as we talk about how families can prepare for summer now. We’ll cover:
• What Regional Center may fund during summer months • How respite, camps, and recreation services work • How families in the Self-Determination Program can design their own summer supports • How to use an SDP budget creatively and legally • Common mistakes families make when requesting summer services • How we can talk with service coordinators about what our kids need
Whether you’re new to Regional Center, already in the Self-Determination Program, or thinking about switching, this session will help you understand what’s possible — and how to advocate for it.
RSVP to submit your questions in advance and get the link to participate in the live chat. Even if you can’t attend live, register and we’ll send you the recording and key takeaways afterward.Summer is coming quickly — now is the time to plan!

About the speakers
Lisa Concoff Kronbeck
Lisa Concoff Kronbeck, Undivided’s Public Benefits Specialist, has both personal and professional experience in the disability community. Her daughter Leah was born two months early with Down syndrome, esophageal atresia, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and congenital heart defects. Before Leah was born, Lisa was an advocate at a disability rights nonprofit, working primarily in the public benefits unit with services like Medi-Cal, In-Home Supportive Services, and Social Security Disability Insurance. Lisa also identifies as a person with disabilities. She shares her extensive knowledge of public benefits with Undivided families, providing parents with the tools, support, and knowledge they need to advocate for their children with disabilities.
Iris Barker
Iris Barker, Independent Facilitator and Undivided’s Self-Determination Consultant, has three children, including a daughter with Down syndrome. Iris’ background is in finance, but soon after her daughter was born, she wanted to learn more about individuals with disabilities and how to support them. Iris has volunteered at Club 21 South Bay, a nonprofit organization that provides education and resources to promote the full inclusion of people with Down syndrome. She became a certified Independent Facilitator to help Regional Center families with Self-Determination and empower individuals to make decisions about their life now and their future. She is also fluent in Spanish and appreciates how she can help Spanish-speaking families gain knowledge that can be hard to find if they don’t speak English.
