IEP goals that work for your child, not against them

Student in class writing

“My favorite thing about supporting families is seeing their wins. It’s incredibly rewarding to teach them how [the various systems] work and see them take on what Undivided is recommending for them and get so many amazing things for their child.” – Kelly, Undivided Navigator. This week: a guide to IEP goals

IEP goals are a big deal — but they’re not the easiest part of the IEP to get right. Maybe you’ve heard things like, “We’re keeping the same goal since your child didn’t meet it last year” and felt that sinking here we go again feeling. Or maybe you’re just trying to figure out what a good goal looks like and whether it’s really helping your child. This week, we’re breaking down how to make your child’s IEP goals actually meaningful and measurable (with sample goals!) — and tips on what to say when you’re told your child can’t have the goals they deserve.
