If you’re parenting a child with autism (or any developmental disability), you know it can be so much more than making them their favorite breakfast, putting on their favorite backpack, and getting them to school in the morning. We’re constantly hoping they feel seen, supported, and connected — whether they’re bonding with a friend over a special interest, trying role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) that help with socialization, or learning to speak up for their sensory needs — and that they’re not just learning, but thriving. There also may be unique things to balance: emotional regulation, sensory and behavior challenges, language and communication delays, the joys and pains of adolescence, the “hidden” rules of friendships (especially in our girls with autism), personal safety…the list goes on.
So how do we show up for our kids in a way that really supports all of who they are — from medical care to school, friendships, safety, and everything in between? In our ongoing autism series, we’re diving into the real-life stuff that helps families feel less overwhelmed and a lot more supported.
Get the latest on diagnosis, therapies, and IEP accommodations and services — like recreational therapy. Then check out our expert tips for parents on PDA, school refusal, gestalt language processing, and more. Plus, we dive into the question: is autism different in girls?

April is Autism Acceptance Month!
Whether your child is only recently diagnosed or you’ve been a part of the community for a long time, one goal we can all agree on is the need for better support. This April, we’re wearing red! The #RedInstead movement symbolizes love, passion, and the ongoing fight for a world where autistic individuals are not just seen, but truly supported.
→ Celebrate with us! Check out our article How We’re Celebrating Autism Acceptance Month for more information and ideas as to how we can support kids and adults with autism — and make a difference changing the way society supports autistic individuals too.

As one of our parent members told Undivided: “I am very happy to have found Undivided and have access to their services, coaches, and educational material. It has been invaluable for myself as I navigate challenges with my son and his new autism diagnosis. I was feeling very overwhelmed and Undivided helped me feel more in control of a stressful situation.”
