Nicole Morris
Transition Specialist
Hi, I’m Nicole Morris 👋
I have a 24-year-old son with Fragile X syndrome and a myriad of other disabilities associated with it. Behaviorally, he is not able to attend a program and is at home until adequate resources are available to him. He is a very smart young man who just wants to be in the world and see it.
Experience:
I have 17 years of experience in the field of Adult Work Services. I started as a Job Coach and worked my way up to a Case Manager, then to Training, Program Management, and Program Development. I wrote program designs and did quality assurance on documents, case manager case loads, and programs. While working in this field, I also did a lot of political advocacy with trips to Sacramento and to Washington, DC. During this time, I gained two master’s degrees in Vocational Rehabilitation (DOR services) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Trainings/Certifications:
I am a certified Benefits Counselor, Customized Employment Specialist, Person-Centered Thinking Trainer, and First Aid CPR Trainer.
Specialty:
I specialize in helping teens make the transition to adulthood via programs available through the California Department of Rehabilitation and Regional Center services.
