Changes are coming to Medi-Cal, California’s Medicaid program, as new federal Medicaid policies and state rules begin taking effect in 2027. For families of children and adults with disabilities, understanding what’s ahead could be critical to keeping their coverage. New work requirements, more frequent eligibility checks, and changes to asset limits could affect who qualifies for coverage, how families keep their benefits, and what happens if they miss an important deadline. Some changes begin January 1, 2027, while others will follow.
Will these changes affect your family? Could your child lose coverage? And what can you do now to prepare?
Join Undivided for a timely conversation with Disability Rights California attorneys Sabrina Epstein and Anna Leach-Proffer. We’ll break down what’s changing, who may be affected, what protections and exemptions may apply, and the practical steps families can take to avoid disruptions in coverage. We’ll also discuss what these changes mean specifically for people with disabilities and their caregivers, and answer your questions.
Can’t join us live? Register anyway, and we’ll send you the full replay after the event!
